G' day readers,
Cricket : "Skippy Skipper", Ricky "The Bully" Pontin has been fined 30% of his match fees for dissent after an incident with umpire Norman Malcolm in the recent ODI in Grenada. Punter was chastised for over zealous appealing following a caught-behind being turned down, rightly so in my opinion, as the ball clearly came off the back pad, not the bat. Punter thought he could bully the "Newbee" umpire, but thankfully, he failed.
Vice Captain, Michael "The Pup" Clarke hailed Punter as,"The greatest leader of all time" after Punter's 300th ODI. Did the Pup not see the Nelson Mandella concert ???? Has he no respect for "Her Madge" ???? typical convict !!!!!!!!!!
Horse Racing: Jumps Racing is in danger of being banned in Victoria following the running of the "Grand National Hurdle". Of the 13 starters, only 4 finished !!! 3 jockeys ended up in hospital and 2 horses went behind the big white curtain. Look out Aintree !!!
Aussie Rules Football : Spare a thought for Richmond on-baller Graham Polak. After attending a club function, he ran across the road to catch a cab, beat the cars, but was hit by a 40 ton tram. Sadly he's in intensive care, in an induced coma, with severe bruising of the brain. Our thoughts are with him and his family. Richmond Football Club's sponsor is the Transport Accident Commision. Their motto, "Speed Kills" . Maybe the players need to run faster !!!!!!!!
Real Football : The "Socceroos" have got through to the next round of qualifying for the world cup. They are in group "A" along with fellow power house nations, Japan, Bahrain, Qatar and Uzbekistan ??????? Where on earth is that ?? Have looked at the pink bits on the globe with no success. Who taught them to play football ???
On This Day in History : On the eve of the Euro 2008 final my mind wanders back to the 29/6/86. After being 2-0 down, the Argies fought back to win the world cup final 3 v 2 against the germans. Can we ever forgive or forget "the hand of God" incident ?????????? NEVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!
May the "Cheating, Blaspheming, Drug induced, Bloated fat pig" ( no not Shane Warne) rot in hell. Or failing that, maybe rot in the Falkland Islands.
