Becky Team News and Banter!

G'day Chaps,

Firstly, sad news from down under. The skips will be wearing pink ribbons and pink batting grips during the up-and-coming ODI. No, they are not batting for the other team, it is due to the sad passing of Jane McGrath, wife of former opening bowler, Glen McGrath who died from breast cancer yesterday(Sun. 22nd) aged 42. She left behind 2 young children. This is of interest to us as she was one of us, an ex-pat.

Enough of the serious stuff; whilst on the subject of former Aussie fast bowlers, some of your senior members may re-call Craig McDemott. Seems like he's been a very naughty boy. The global credit crunch has definately given his Gonads a squeeze. His company, Maxen Developments Pty. ltd. has gone "tits up" owing a cool $40 million (is that all, Alan Bond ripped his investers off for more than $250 mill) Doesn't seem to worry "Billy the Kid" too much as my Queensland sources tell me he's still driving his Porsche and living in his waterfront mansion worth $9 mill. on the gold coast. You've been warned, be wary of Aussie property developers !!!!!!!!!!

Keep an eye on a young leggie by the name of Beau Cassin. Could be the next "Shane Warne". Doubt it though; he's not an arrogant, pie eating, fat pig,not just yet anyway !!!

Football:
Been watching Euro 2008, didn't see our chaps there ?? Did we decide it was beneath us to play with our European colleges ?? or are we saving our selfs for the world cup ?? Ex Aussie coach, Guss Heddinck has got his "Russkies" to the semi's. He's been very successful with the Skipps and South Korea in the past. Maybe he could be a possible future England boss ?? New Skippy coach, Pim Veerbeck, has got his team through to te next round of qualifying for the world cup, after beating China, Qatar and Iran in their group.

Horse Racing :
Heard that aussie horse "Take over Target" was being investigated because of his quick decline at Ascot. I can confirm that some-one in the know this end had a truck load of money on him to finish 4th. Any tips for the Melbourne Cup in November ??
Keep an eye on a horse called Guilloteen. Good horse, owes me a fortune

Tennis:
Wimbledon is about to start; rain, rain, rain and more rain. Is young Timmy Hennman still going around ?? Are there any Englishmen at the championships ?? we've sent our best chappie "Little Leyton" C'mon

Skiing:
Very little snow on our Alps. Best go on the Piste ??

Will stay in touch, tootal-pip for now

Well mate Sunday runs is the way to go, Egg won the batting trophy with them last year. Mind you i can't score those either so there's no hope for me. Unless....... the 4ths are playing a team of blind cricketers this saturday, in which case i'm on for a triple ton to get back in contention

Is that $40M AU that McDermott owes? If its is I'm sure we could have a whip round at the club, I'm sure our loose change would cover it?
